From Your Board of Directors

Happy New Year everyone! On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to personally thank you for your continued support of the Cape Fear Chapter of ISM-CV. We have great hopes in your continued support throughout 2009.

Along with your New Year’s Resolutions, I hope that you are able to commit yourself to the Cape Fear Chapter of ISM–CV. The easiest way to get involved is to attend one (or several) of the monthly meetings that the chapter sponsors. We have a great group of members; however, having more chapter members and more attendees at our monthly meetings would be even better.  These meetings allow everyone an opportunity to get to know each other better as well as accomplish our professional development requirements. Camaraderie and good times, I am sure, will abound. So why not come join us at one of our meetings?

Our first meeting for 2009 will be held at the Madeline Suite inside of Wagoner Hall on the campus of UNCW on January 13th from 6:00-8:00 PM. Our guest speaker, Sean Coury, of Elementis Chromium, will be speaking on the topic of Global Warming. Whether you believe Global Warming is fact or fiction, I am sure you will learn something new from Sean’s presentation. We look forward to hearing what Sean has to say as well as seeing you all there!

GREEN TIP OF THE MONTH FOR JANUARY:
Change your billing from paper based to electronic based. The average household can save 6.6 pounds of paper per year, reduce wastewater released into the environment by more than 60.0 gallons, and will eliminate the production of 171.0 pounds of greenhouse gases. Just imagine what can be done if your business or industry changes from paper to electronic billing!
